i got a thing or two.
i sense a little discrimination unto the lesser gender these days, at least in my society.
and it gets a little bit frustrating sometimes.
no, i don't want to be labeled as the outraged feminist or deranged ex-student of an all-girls school. oh, wouldn't it be so easy to just blame it all to that?
i'm just saying sometimes i don't agree with how things work around here. (ahaha awat hang tak bertanding je untuk PERUBATAN then. lol. voting pun tidak, ok, i'll give you that; i'm an irresponsible member of the society. but that doesn't mean i can't have opinions. and if you don't like em, don't subscribe to em)
some things don't make me mad. it just plain baffles me, that is all. for instance sharing pagi-pagi tu. kenapa lelaki je yang men-sharing? i mean, it's not that i really want to take the mike and shine in the spotlight and talk infront, not at all. tak mau pun. haha. but i was just wondering why not girls? what's the reason. i wanna know. i'm curious to know; dying. is it because of an Islamic point of view? suara perempuan itu aurat? okay, but then what about lecturers perempuan. boleh bukan? sebab mereka sampaikan knowledge. what about kalau girls yg sampaikan sharing? bukan sama ke, sampaikan knowledge? and if the reason is : oh perempuan takleh, sebab perempuan pemalu. then, haktuih. not all girls are malu gila gells tak bertempat. some are proactive and perhaps have a very great deal of knowledge to share. sama lah juga kepada video-video. kenapa perempuan cannot be in the video? it's absurd. bukannya buat video porno pun. video ilmiah jugak.
and diversity. what's wrong with that? i get that Daddy has been getting a lot of negative feedback from his controversial status-es on facebook, but i totally get what he's trying to say. no, i'm not anti-Islamist, just that there's nothing wrong with having different kinds of activities atau topic sharing for that matter to attract interest of different members of our society. selagi tidak melampaui batas, why not? after all, we do need to strive to produce multi-talented all-rounder Muslims who can adapt to any situation or hold a conversation with people from different walks of life, non-Islamic topics even.
i don't know. am i the one who's having an askewed mind-set. was i wrong for the entire of my 19 years of living and only after coming here realising this is how girls should be? silent, blushing and just letting men boss around? then i don't fit in. i really don't. no wonder sometimes i feel so detached from the society.

4 ramblings:
i love this post. even i do feel so too lisa. it has been years feeling so. but i do not know to whom should i tell this without been judged as someone who opposes things that they believe is right. I agree with you, which girls should be shy and all sorts of that. padahal, muslimah pun kena jadi all-rounded.
kannnn? if i voice it out, people will be so quick to condemn and say i'm too modern-minded and that's rather unislamic of me to say so. haih
Bila kita ckp mcm ni, they say we want to be equal pulak -.- wtv.NICELY SAID LISA! :)
Dilemmas of a girl in the 21st century. Hahah
